The Virtual Revolution – Master Shortie (2009)

by Atiya Petite

Was researching for coursework on how social media has helped people be more aware of what is going on and how we communicate with a large amount of people and I came across this interview with Master Shortie. Master Shortie is a UK urban rapper who I have seen from the days of Myspace blow up to a huge mainstream artist. I found this video from 2009 of him with Aleks Krotoski talking about social networking and music piracy, he is one artist that has used social media from Myspace, Twitter, Bebo and Facebook to connect with music producers, fashion houses and video directors to brand himself professionally. Just interesting to see with such high motivation and connections how far a person can get to reaching their goals.
